Lars: Sir Fox Bones - reloaded
On Friday, July 20, 2007 I introduced Sir Fox Bones and his attendant Dr Catson to you. This is the cover-illustration I did for the children's detective story named "Sir Fox Bones and the Buckingham Palace Mystery" by Harald Weisshaar.I hope you enjoy it though it's no brandnew picture in my new style! Olf : Smiling Guy & Drawing Jam Graz 2008!
I've got a lot of things in the pipe but nothing finished. So just another portrait. A smiling guy.
As you might already know I visited our dear colleague and fellow blogger Florian Satzinger in Graz and joined the 3rd Royal Styrian Drawing Jam. We had a great time! EXPOSITION COMPETITION!
Liebe Blog-Freunde!
Vom 1. bis zum 12. Mai mache ich eine Comic-Ausstellung im Wendland,
genauer gesagt in dem kleinen Rundlingsdorf Püggen.
Im Rahmen der Kulturellen Landpartie zeige ich eine Auswahl Originalcomicseiten sowie Drucke von digitalen Motiven (...SPAWN;-)).
Würde mich freuen, wenn der eine oder andere von Euch mal gucken kommt.
Es gibt sogar Merchandise: Eine kleine Serie handbedruckter Shirts soll verkauft werden.
Ein Exemplar davon biete ich hier als Gewinn an!
Wer mir als Erster sagt/schreibt, welcher Film (Originaltitel) in dem roten Kasten unterhalb meiner konfusen Plakat/T-Shirt-Grafik dargestellt ist, kriegt eins..

I guess it's his bad conscience, that lays its creepy claws on his shoulder, because he has been mean to his younger schoolmates, always annoys his little sister and likes to torment small animals, especially his sister's guinea pig...At least he has such thing as a conscience - or is it just a hairy monster?

Movin' out
Passend zum bevorstehenden Umzug hab' ich hier mal ein gaanz altes Ding aus den Archiven des Artdepartments ausgegraben.
Für das Dietmar Wischmeyer Buch "Verchromte Eier" (ein humoriges Handbuch über die unterschiedlichen Modderad-Typen und ihre Maschienen), sind wärend der Gaya- Produktion (1803), in einer Nacht- und Nebelaktion (damals noch in reiner Handarbeit!) einige Illustrationen entstanden, die von mir entworfen, Hern Kurth geinkt und mit feinem Markerstrich - ich weiß leider in diesem Fall nicht mehr genau von wem (Lars, Thíes, Henning?) - farbig verziert wurden. Man sieht den Illus das Alter an aber diese find' ich immer noch ganz vorzeigbar.
Also, rauf auf den Bock und ab zum Grillplatz - BRRRRRMMM!!!

Michael : Der Geistesblitz
{Pod|cast ['potka:st]: Serie aus Audio- oder Videodateien, die zumeist kostenlos über einen Internet-Feed automatisch bezogen werden können. Der Begriff setzt sich zusammen aus iPod und Broadcasting.}
Der Illustrator an sich konsumiert bei seiner Arbeit neben Kaffee auch Unmengen an Hörbarem: Musik, Hörbücher, Hörspiele und eben Podcasts. Zur Geburtsstunde des Podcastings waren dies größtenteils noch Beiträge von Nichtprofis, inzwischen finden sich z.B. im iTunes Store auch viele TV-Zweitverwertungen, z.B. die Aufzeichnungen von Comedy-Shows. Dabei höre ich oft gerade die von Amateuren produzierten Podcasts am Liebsten. Zugegeben, auch hier ist – wie auch im Profi-Bereich - viel Schund dabei.
Eine echte Podcast-Perle ist für mich Dübels Geistesblitz, den ich erst vor einigen Monaten entdeckt habe. Die wöchentlich erscheinenden Episoden von Marcus Dübel bringen mich regelmäßig zum Schmunzeln und oft zum Lachen.
Mittlerweile habe ich alle bisherigen 80 Folgen kostenlos angehört, und war immer bestens unterhalten. Grund genug also, etwas von meinem Glück zurückzugeben. Mein Geschenk an den Dübel war in diesem Fall ein neuer Look für sein Podcast-Cover und für die obligatorische Website. Es sind einige nette Entwürfe dabei rumgekommen, die ich an dieser Stelle einmal zeigen möchte.

A little winterly impression.
Not that it's snowing here in Hannover. Two days a go there was actually a little bit of snow in the morning, but it vanished as quickly as it came. Hasn't been a great Winter after all. But it was enough to inspire this little picture. Okay, today is the first day of spring as Mr. Schwarz kindly reminded me. Do I care? No! Somewhere it's snowing right now ...

Michael: Camping on asteroids...
I’ve prepared this image in order to become a little bit acquainted with Illustrator. I was allways used to create vector-based illustrations with FreeHand, but because that application is not going to be supported in the future, I feel impelled to learn Illustrator as far as I can.
The other reason is that I wanted to demonstrate my new representatives that I am capable of drawing such vector-based illustrations, too.
